What if this was a Terrorist Attack?
What if Katrina was a terrorist attack? Barring the fact that we all knew this was coming and had days to prepare, even after 4 days, there is still CHAOS in New Orleans. CHAOS.

WE ARE NOT SAFER UNDER BUSH.

We are not prepared for anything catastrophic to happen to an American city, be it natural or man-made.

Even after we created DHS and other things to protect us, it is clear we are TOTALLY VULNERABLE.

Folks, we have heard for four years that bush is fighting to make us safer. WHAT THE FUCK HAS HE BEEN DOING?!?!?!?!

this is simply a DERELICTION OF DUTY.

Indict, Impeach, Imprison!

2. There'd be only one difference of any consequence
That is, instead of this farting around the administration is doing concerning Katrina, we'd have been put under Martial Law the second the first reports hit the airwaves. There'd still be lots of chaos and death, though.

:sarcasm:

4. But who would enforce the martial law?
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 09:47 AM by MadAsHellNewYorker
I mean there is no real troop/authority presence in NO. Officers are being shot, people dying in the one place where they were supposed to take refuge. What in the hell have we been doing for 4 years?!?!??!

5. If it actually was a terrorist attack....
FEMA would have already been there for a mock catastrophe drill. They would have easily been able to switch gears from drill to real.

7. We'd. Be. Fucked.
And pretty much anybody whose been following the issue over the past four years would be telling you the same thing. Politics and greed have trumped safety in myriad ways, over and over again.

I write this about three miles from the White House. The idea of what could happen if there was a major attack scares the bejeebus out of me, and is one of several reasons why my family is hoping to exit the area over the next year or so.

11. If it was a terrorist attack, he'd be looking to attack someone back!
That would be Bush's priority, instead of helping out those affected! With this crisis, he's frustrated, because there's noone he can bomb to make people happy that "something's being done about it"...

12. Sad but true.
When did our response to tragedy turn into revenge? I mean there are AMERICANS who need help, and bush refuses to give them aid. DISGUSTING.
