or my head will explode. I didn't want to politicize this because I believe in times of crisis we drop party lines like we did on 9/11. But this recovery is so screwed up & I'm very angry.:grr:
Would this have been handled differently if it happened August 2004? Would it have been a different priority to Bush & his handlers? Would it have effected the election? Asked now, I don't think the people who supported Bush in LA & MS wouldn't have voted for him. I don't think they would have voted for Kerry. I think they just wouldn't have voted.

It would have been handled differently. It would have become a backdrop for the election and someone might actually have been put in charge before the thing crossed Florida.
But A million+ voters would probably have been disenfranchised. I don't know how you can predict what affect that would have had on the election.

2. I think Bush would have been toast. |

Right now, we can rationalize what the reasons are for this slow response to an overwhelming tragedy. But when we enter the voting booth, the moment of truth arrives and the "gut" takes over. It wouldn't matter what excuses he had--he'd go down in flames.
