A tale of two cities
You know, I hate to bring this up, but as I type this poor African-Americans dying on the streets and overpasses of a major American city. No water in blistering heat, no food, no coordinated response, just chaos.

If a major earthquake had hit San Francisco over the weekend - a city of affluent whites - you can BET that even if the bridges and the port were detroyed there would be help pouring into the city (I'm also remembering 1989 here - granted we didn't have flooding, but we had a major bridge and highway down and wow, help was everywhere within a day).

What we're seeing could well just be more Bush incompetence, but you can bet if those were middle-class white people on that overpass even Kagan on CNN would be screaming in rage. Yet she calmly watches poor blacks die without comment. Where's the outrage from the CBC? From Sharpton? Jackson? WTF?

3. Exactly. I've been saying this all along. If
the poor souls at the Superdome and stranded on roof tops were rich and middle class white Repugs MonkeySpeak would have been all over recue efforts in a heart beat. The bastard is not of this planet.

4. IMHO,,, It has more to do with
Bush and less to do about race. Bush gutted the old Fema. And now the neocons are running the show. Oh and it is not an election year for Bush.
