Shame on the Red Cross
Among the many things making me angry because my city was abandoned before, during and after the hurricane, the behavior of the Red Cross is only one item. But it needs to be mentioned. I saw the head of the Red Cross being interviewed on CNN, cheerfully explaining all the wonderful things her oranization was doing to relief the distress of the victims. And yes, the Red Cross does do wonderful things. Then she mentioned that the sister Islamic organization, the Red Crescent, was also helping. And what about the Red Mogen David, the Jewish equivalent? It's not recognized by the Red Cross. Jews don't count, not to the anti-Semites that run the Red Cross. I should amend that. As long as Jews don't make a point of being Jewish and independent, they don't count.

Another Bushism.

1. Let it go. Please, let it go.
Do we not have enough to deal with without screaming anti-semitism??????

A time a place..........a time and place........and this is NOT the time, nor the place.

2. No
I won't let it go and I'm not "screaming" anti-Semitism. I'm pointing out a very un-liberal and non-progressive attitude that needs to be addressed. And what better time to become humanitarian and accept aid from wherever it comes, regardless of race, creed or national origin? This is the perfect time for the Red Cross to say, all agencies should work together to help those in need. That's my point. Let us "come together right now."

3. I respectfully agree with Reply #1
I am definitely not saying it is not a note-worthy observation that of course needs to be addressed and it is not "a bad thing" that you posted it here to inform us of this fact.

{i]However, I would suggest that all activism that may be taken up on this cause be postponed until there is some resolution to this current crisis. I am sure you'd agree that all energy spent on letter-writing and ranting right now should be directed at trying to seek a humane resolution the more immediate and epic crisis of humanity.

5. Urgh
I agree with first responder. You're over-reacting under the stress of this horrible situation. Lets just call it the Red Human Umbrella organization that does wonderful things when TSHTF.
