The evacuation of the Superdome in New Orleans was suspended on Thursday after shots were reported fired at a military helicopter and arson fires broke out outside the arena.

...and unless you are expecting violence, you do not go in there with weapons and body armor--certainly not in the US!!!!! You go in with fresh water and MRE's and a team of medical personnel. You wear soft hats, not helmets, and you HELP people.

This is not a cancellation, it is a suspension so that they can retool their approach with an awareness that they might encounter hostile fire.

No one shot at uniformed personnel after Hurricane Andrew--this is some new shit....and it ain't fun.
