This isn't a time for finger-pointing
The words of Scott McClellan just now, when a reporter had the nerve to ask a real question.

6. couldn't see the reporter
It was a woman.

She asked if Scott thought the pre-positioning of assets before the hurricane was sufficient.

Now a male reporter is asking about the lack of funding / budget cut. Scott says again this is no time for politics, but bush is blameless anyway.

15. Huh,
I say it's VERY damn good time for finger-pointing. There's plenty of reasons TO finger point and we're looking at the RESULTS of the bush administration incompetence RIGHT NOW.

What better time? I've already given blood, sent all the money I could, husband did the same, I'm trying to talk everyone I know into doing the same.

aka "politics"

Then he went on to talk about the Coward's disaster declarations.

And then he said on TUESDAY that the scope of the disaster was recognized. Hey shithead ordinary citizens knew long before Tuesday how bad this was likely to be.

Well, at least the reporters are asking some of the right questions.

Scotty is thinking "where is Jeff Gannon when I need him."

18. Well, while the world's terrorists are watching the US bungle...
... the response to a disaster... I'd say now is the time to start firing people, let alone pointing fingers.

The whole world has just been shown how vulnerable we are. :(

26. I can not listen to this anymore. I am so furious! This is the result of
gross mismanagement of this country's resources, the blind grandioze ambitions of the neo-cons, ignoring the needs of this country and the people all these years, diverting funds and prioritizing the wants of the few well to do big corporations and people.

Bringing out Bush Sr and Clinton to do a fund drive for the Tsunami victims was one thing, as the US government has in fact no responsibility but representing goodwill.

The Katrina disaster relief is the responsibility of the US government. How dare they mismanage the resources of the people all these years and then ask private citizens to come forward. The citizens of this country do not need to be told to do whatever they can. Tell us what you are doing now, aside from calculating how much money it will cost.

What the people in the area need right now is manpower, someone to take the lead, even something such as getting on loudspeakers from a chopper and tell the people who are wandering about what the plan is, where they have to go, what is going to be done.
They are desperate, no information, and the talk about zero tolerance?

Who is taking the lead?
