I just called Harry Reid's office and UNLOADED....
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 12:10 PM by Gloria
First about this crap that Bush is spinning about how Katrina couldn't have been predicted--about the repeated cuts and cries for funding from LA; about the cronyism that has destroyed FEMA, how Dems in Washington better wake up and go after Bushco and how they should tie Bush and the GOP together as the corrupt, inept creeps that they are, how the Democratic roots are the ones dying in LA, how Roberts is another crony in judges robes and he needs to be fought if nothing else, to educate people for the next one, how the courts will screw the country for years to come, how Reid should get them all into a room and tell them all to SHUT UP so one message can go out, how Biden should quit the Senate and go to work for MBNA, how the DLC should stop undercutting Dean, how he should go talk to the House Black Caucus because they're just the only ones with any fight in them....

very pleasant young man told me that I should talk to my friends and that the Senate staffer T-shirts had "Give em hell Harry" on the backs.

I said that's nice, but the leadership in Washington better see what's going on outside the Loop. I told him people on the internet were smarter than the people in Washington and that he should read DU, Buzzflash and other sites. I said this party was about to break open if Dems didn't fight and stand for the real principles of the party. I said I'd never give another cent to them if they didn't take the gloves off and stop this "pansy-assed" business (he liked that term).

I just let it rip. I told he a lot of us were PISSED. Not the ones sitting at the party breakfasts, but the people out in their raising money, etc. on the internet...

I also said I hope Harry was feeling better and was ready to fight...

Call Harry Reid's office and tell him the angry woman from New Mexico did what he said to do--talk to my friends!

End of rant.

This should have been posted over on the Politics side, too. I have recommended this, because you are one ballsy chick! Thank you, Gloria!

You also might want to put the number you called in this post for people who won't bother unless it's in front of them?

Right on!

12. For Clarkies --not to upset the non-Clarkies, BUT I ALSO SAID
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 12:18 PM by Gloria
that in terms of Iraq, Clark is the only one who's playing the whole thing correctly. I cited the Gene Lyons' article, the appeal to both right and left. I said Feingold was a good guy, but naive on this and forget the Hillary and Biden crowd who wanted to "stay the course" and still play with Bush...

Also, somewhere along the line I also mentioned Feinstein, as a general appeaser....I think it was in all the pansy-assed stuff they did...

He's got to know what's going on. We can't allow this kind of inaction to continue.

10. I left out quite a bit about the DLC--and I also said that all this
buddy stuff with Clinton and Bush sr. The tsanami was OK, but what's with the nonsense about the BOAT in Maine??? I said that Hillary might be a good Senator, but she and the DLC should stop all this nicey-nice with the GOP.

That we should be on a CONSTANT CAMPAIGN from now until 2006 and 2008 going after these people, I don't care if you have to buy air time. There should be a LIE OF THE DAY issued.

I was just smoking....

11. Biding time?
My hope is that the democrats are strategizing right now and biding their time. It would be foolish for them to start raising an outcry right now. They would be smart to wait until the people's immediate needs are at least met. It would only backfire.

Hopefully, they're organizing relief efforts right now and thinking up ways to help the people and in the meantime getting ready to raise all of the valid points when the time is right.

16. Sorry!
My speed reading wasn't sufficient! Yeah, you're right...at the very least, he could have said they were getting ready to fight when the time was right, or something to that effect.

I'm hoping that another Clinton is getting ready to emerge. We don't have anybody to inspire the people right now. A Clintonesque person that can behave himself for 8 years. Just 8 years!

for four and a half years -

I think we should call Howard Dean too and ask him where the hell are the Dems - oh maybe they're still on vacation....FUCK ALL OF THEM
