Is this the America we're trying to force on to other countries?
I'm watching in despair as my countrymen and women plead for help, race for any bit of food and clean water they can find and hold their babies tight while walking through contaminated water up to their waist.

Through all their suffering I see pictures of my President strumming a guitar and laughing, I hear nothing from my Vice President, and I read that my Secretary of State is laughing it up at a broadway production in NYC. Congress is wrapping up their August break and will be back after Labor Day.

During the pain of my fellow Americans and during the vacations of my so called leaders, I'm listening to the news make harsh judgments on the suffering because they apparently aren't fighting for survival in a civilized manner. I read the filth from racist conservative websites calling for the death of those who loot. The President has zero tolerance for the looters and makes no distinction for those stealing food to survive. I'm watching people wave down television helicopters in hopes that they are finally being saved, but they're not. The helicopters give them false hope but that is acceptable in our society because their despair is now our entertainment.

Is this what we're spreading to the Middle East? Is this what we deem civilized? Is this America?

Love it or Leave it, sista! :sarcasm:

It's horrible isn't it, the legacy of this time in our history will haunt us forever.

3. I just can't get over the judgments made by teleprompter readers
people like O'Reilly...well just about everyone on Fox passing judgment on the victims. The irony is this - imagine O'Reilly in a situation like this. He would be the first person to break down the doors to Wal-Mart to get his hands on a gun.

4. the america we want the world to see.....
is the america of different orginizations donating millions
to this cause. The American people that will be and are donating
money and blood to this catastrophe. Our country is represented
by us the people, not corrupt govt. officials. Those that are
helping to rescue their neighbors, not the president. Don't try
to portray "Us" by his image.

5. I'm tired of seperating the two
The people of this country are incredible and it's time we have leadership that reflects our generocity. If we don't take responsibility for those in power, then I fear that little will change.
