"Help us, please. Help us!" The little girl (7yo) standing in the water
cries to reporters. A man ( her father) says "just point us toward dry land"....and the little girl still cries. My heart is breaking, I'm starting to cry, and then ....the reporter hits the gas and speeds away. That one scene said it all to me. Cold, heartless, unforgivable act. I know the reporters can't help everyone, but how could they let that child stand there crying???

1. I saw that. That is haunting me.
That was horrible, beyond words, unimaginable.

I can't get that out of my head.

3. I saw that one yesterday
It was the first video that really started bringing it home to me how incredibly unbelievably horrible this whole thing is.

6. The reporter transmitted that image to many Americans...
...and that was a great act of service.

Those reporters showed you, and hundreds of thousands of other people, an example of how incompetent our current government is.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

We've been saying for years now that spending money on Iraq while services are cut in our country--is devastating and wrong.

That picture of that little girl demonstrates clearly what we've been saying.

Don't underestimate that reporter. They could cover this up. I bet you anything, reporters are getting calls from Rove--telling them to not make it look so bad. I bet there are orders to squelch stories about Bush cutting FEMA funding and monies to strengthen the NOLA levies. This reporter is showing America the sick truth about this disaster and showing our government's inept and criminal response to it.

I, for one--am glad that these things are being shown.

I hope that little girl got help.
