When are we going to ask for help from other Nations?

I can't even believe this is america today. We all pay so many taxes so that in times like these our fellow citizens do not have to live like they are in NO right now. Have other nations said anything or are they afraid to piss of Bush? Where the hell is our own Nation?

Canada, Venezuela, Australia, France, Netherlands, etc. To date, I have seen/heard nothing regarding any official U.S. response accepting or rejecting.

Someone posted in another thread that Bush said no during BBC interview. And ... I heard Scotty say that the US was "weighing the options" of international support - which means they're just killing time until everyone dies.

6. They sure want to help

Every American citizen I talk to wants to help, but people are being allowed to die for no reason at all. It sure isn't a matter of resources, it's a matter of being allowed in the area to save American lives. There is simply no excuse and someone needs to be held accountable for a change.

bush, at an interview this morning said he would accept 'cash money' but didn't need help from other countries, "Americans can look after their own". In other words, he has REFUSED real help but will take 'cash money' so he doesn't have to inconvenience his 'haves and have mores'. Despicable, imo.

9. Now that makes me really angry - Germany has offered

help, too; among other things mobile homes and thingamajigs to clean water with. And Bush says "no, stuff it, but hand over some cash". Bush who is spending - how much? 180 millions? - every day in Iraq! And I'd never believe Bush that cash from my country would really be helping the poor. Absolutely against cash here.

11. Top Canadian general says military stands ready to help U.S. if asked

OTTAWA (CP) - Gen. Rick Hillier says the Canadian military is ready to respond immediately if the United States asks for help in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

Hillier says he told U.S. ambassador David Wilkins that there are contingency plans. Although he says the Americans have most or all they need to help with recovery from the devastating hurricane, there may be things they need in addition.

Prime Minister Paul Martin told U.S. President George W. Bush by telephone as well that Canada will help in any way needed.
