It's irresponsible and immoral for the government of a country to cause their military to be so thinly spread and so overtaxed that they cannot even help their own country and their own fellows in a time of crisis at home.
It's irresponsible and immoral to cut funding for programs that keep the infrastructure sound, that keep people safe, that keep people alive.
It's irresponsible and immoral for a government to not do everything it can do, as quickly as it can do it, to protect and to save the citizens of that country.
It's irresponsible and immoral for a government to privatize, outsource, and slash the funding of an agency that is directly responsible, in times of emergency, for the well-being of that country's citizens.
These statements are not negotiable. There are not various shades of meaning. They are simple, and they are true. And they are statements the bush administration have shown me, by their actions and inactions, that they completely disagree with.
Therefore, the bush administration is irresponsible and immoral and has engaged in actions (and inactions) that have caused this natural disaster to be far worse for the people of the Gulf Coast than it had to be.
For anyone lurking who still supports this administration, let my words really sink in. Think about them. Decide if you agree or not with them. If you do not, then you need to live on the hope that you and your loved ones are never in a similar situation as your fellow Americans on the Gulf Coast. Because that hope is all that is standing between you and disaster. republicans want you to walk that tightrope with no net. Now get out there and walk it. I hope you have an excellent sense of balance and the wind doesn't catch you by surprise.
