Whatever happened to "trains"? |
|
Are there no train tracks going out of NO? Couldn't thousands have gotten into freight cars and been moved to safety before the storm? Aren't the tracks elevated? Are any out of the water? Could people still be moved by train? What a mess our infrastructure has become. In 1949 there was a devastating flood in Ft. Worth, Texas. My mom told me that she rode to work on the train because it was still above the water level.
I know this is worse but where were the trains?

said this morning that they found they could use trains but they had to figure out how to get people from the Dome to the trains...said each train could handle about 1,900 people....

3. I would think we would have to have a network of busses to get them to |

the nearest working train station. However that is preferable to using too few busses to take people on long trips to Texas.

I was looking at a map of the east side of the city (away from downtown), and some of the train tracks run along the canal system over there.
