Can we house NOLA refugees in mothballed military bases? |
|
Here in Seattle we have 2 closed installations; Fort Lawton & Sand Point Naval Station, where military housing sits empty. Fort Lawton housed military families as recently as last year. the houses are slated for eventual destruction as they sit in the city's largest park, and are post-war ticky tacky POS. but they still work.
Can the military put 500 families on transports & set them up there? I'm confident the City of Seattle & its citizens would take care of the rest.

1. Sounds like a feasible idea. |

I wonder whose ear to whisper it into for it to take place.

2. Contact your Federal Representative and Senators about this. |

Also try contacting your Governor's office about this idea. He could probably get the ear of the right person. Also call local and national talk shows with your suggestion.
