When you can't get people out, why the hell are you not flying water and food in?

But I'm just as angry at America as a society for the way the people in N.O. have been behaving instead of coming together as a people, to try to help each other when no other help is available.

I'm not "blaming the victims" - I'm just wishing that we were a more civil society. Things on the ground would be so much better now if the prevailing attitude was not every one for themselves.

Hospital was almost overrun yesterday by a group of people (my father-in-law is Chief of Staff there). Also Meadowcrest Hospital (a hospital in West Jeff where there is no flooding and there is electricity), had a supply truck robbed of hospital supplies on Tuesday. As a result, they have evacuated their patients to outlying hospitals and shut down the facility.

I have been listening to the scanner for the last two hours. About an hour ago, police were reporting that 100 people had entered Charity (just down the street from Tulane), and that police were being sent in to "evacuate the Chief of Staff".
