My car is loaded with donation items
Taking it to the Bristol Motor Speedway where a truck is accepting donations.

Talked to hubby and once a week we will continue to do this. The items we bought are: 4 cases of water, boxes of cereal, diapers, soup, vegetables, several cases of packs of fruit juices(truck driving perk), toilet paper, paper towels, and many other items we've been told are needed. Next week, we're getting nothing but baby formula to send.

I know they say cash is better, but there is nothing like actually getting the things yourself. I feel like I'm really doing something tangible. If that makes any sense.

1. Yes, you are making a lot of sense!
I am currently out of work, and living from severance check to severance check. I am looking for work but do not have a penny to my name. I feel guilty because I cannot do anything. So, please let me live vicariously through you until I receive my next check.

4. Umm, are you are a displaced Freeper?
FEMA isn't prepared and organized enough as it is, let alone enough to start asking for volunteers.

I have personally called FEMA and have gotten the same response: We have the situation under control, we need noone else on the ground but you can donate money.

So, I would venture to say that your "FEMA" must stand for something totally different.
