What did Bush's 2 extra days of vacation cost New Orleans?

I'll think of a few things.

He could have

- asked the Pentagon if they were positioned to stop the predicted levee break and inform New Orleans they indeed were not

- asked the Pentagon if they were positioned to build temporary floating bridges to the refugee centers (Superdome, Convention Center, hospitals, etc.) for evacuation of existing refugees. When he found out they were not, he could inform the refugee centers they needed to plan for longer stays.

- asked the Pentagon whether they've positioned sufficient protection around 1st responders and their support crews.

- asked the Pentagon whether they've volunteered transport for refugees from New Orleans to refugee camps

1. In all reality he's a figurehead.
I doubt his being in Washington would have made much a difference as to how the mass bureaucracy of the federal government responded.

3. Wouldn't you think.......
that * would consider his poll numbers of late and USE this "fall in his lap", natural disaster to dig himself out? He could have been a hero and saved his people from a lot of the distress. Is Rove asleep at his dish? I wonder, just postulating, if he IS using this disaster to keep the masses occupied while he plans his next unilateral action?
