5. Exactly
They're just giving Bush enough rope to put the noose around his neck. Then when it comes time for the clean up.

Bam!!!

They pull back on the rope and hang him.

Just like then Governor Clinton did to Papa Bush in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew.

You know Carter will be down their to help rebuild and he'll bust Bush in his ass.

7. It's kinda hard to claim the moral high ground when you've
already built a cabin on the amoral low ground.

6. The DLC will just say it's too dangerous due to rioting and snipers.
In the meantime, those in the affected areas will deny any rioting or sniping going on, and the remaining Dems (save Conyers, McKinney, and the usual handful) will be MIA, while the usual handful gets nothing more than a couple of blog posts out.

14. I worry that calling out Bush now, while the world watches may
make us more vulnerable. The world community doesn't need to hear everyone scream how much this effort has been mishandled and how unprepared we actually are in the event of another attack or disaster.

18. Telling the truth is the best thing we can do. Lying wont help a thing.
The world can see that this is being mishandled- so lying about it, or letting Bush's lies go unchallenged is not the answer anymore.

If we continue to let them lie, it will just happen again.
