Is the situation in NO a setup for martial law? |
Everyone's screaming in the media about the inhumane conditions there. I'm worried that the Misadministration will use this as an excuse to invoke martial law there

1. There already is martial law there... |
The mayor declared it Tuesday night (I think).

8. How many of them are in Iraq? Oh wait, I forgot, now is not the time |
for politics. Too bad they didn't have that attitude when they were doing things like cooking up intelligence, or reading things like "Bin Laden determined to attack in US".

3. the place should be on martial law. |
seriously, of course NO should be under martial law, what the hell is your problem with it? its fucking anarchy there, and someone needs to assert control.

7. You're right about NO. But what if they declare the entire US |
under martial law. I should have explained myself more clearly but right now I'm so furious at this Misadministration I could scream!

9. It's completely unrealistic |
There would be massive rioting in the streets and it can only be used in dire dire situations. Martial law can't be instituted while there are civillian courts in operation. The writ of habeas corpuis (tied with martial law) can only be suspended in cases of rebellion or invasion. Plus Tennessee outlaws martial law. I think the Bush administration is evil, not that evil.

4. Which won't work any better than Iraq or the rescue efforts. |
This administration can't do anything right. Bush's martial law would be like the silent movie Keystone Cops, all running around in circles not knowing what to do. I don't think we have anything to fear from that kind of "martial law."

Can't say they haven't given us plenty of evidence there.
