My co-worker and I are thinking about going to help

The Red Cross is flying groups of people to the stricken area to help.

I have 3 weeks vacation and we are both thinking about signing up. He would go first for about 9 days or two weeks and I would go when he came back.

We are going to talk to our boss about it.

1. What kind of people are they taking

I would like to go, but don't know how I could help there. I have a computer background... not medical or construction or anything

2. Good for you both. My neighbor is a nurse and goes wherever

the Red Cross needs her. Take care of yourself, and I really admire you - at least you are willing to give up your vacation to do the right thing, unlike everyone in Wash DC.

4. Right now, they probably only want medical and power people

Untrained civilians will get in the way and don't have any logisitcal infrastructre for themselves either. Media and police are having to scavange food and water as we speak.
