ok---FEMA suspended operations due to danger
reports say some were firing on FEMA rescue personnel.

My question---if FEMA personnel are being shot at, do you support armed guardsmen escorting them and returning fire at armed rioters?

just a question. please no flaming each other.

1.  It makes no sense that civilians would fire on rescuers.
I have my doubts about this but, I'm not there so who can say. In order to save lives yes shoot them with a tranquilizer gun. Since this is a hypothetical question.

2. Yes
In fact - duh. There might be some circumstances - like bystanders where restraint would have to be shown.

What is not clear to me is just how common this is occuring.

3. Or maybe that's just an excuse to cover the lack of preparation.
I'm more inclined to believe that FEMA had nothing to offer, so they lied about their reason to do nothing.

4. Oh, oh! The "insurgents" have come to America!
Bush manages to bring out the best in people doesn't he?

Iraq and New Orleans aren't that different right now--no infrastructure, no food, water, homes, etc. Only New Orleans is a little wetter.

Maybe people just react violently when they're struggling to survive.

Shooting back isn't going to help anything--it will only make things worse.

5. They were under sniper fire. Do you think they had
a sharp shooter not wanting sick people to be taken out of NO. I can't believe some of this crap that I am hearing. It comes out of the announcer's mouth, but never a reporter's...
