RW Shill Mowbray on CNN: WMD Programs SAME AS Actual WMD
The latest RW talking point was in full display this AM on CNN. Joel Mowbray (R-POS/dunce/glue sniffer) said, and I quote, "WMD programs and WMDs are one in the same thing. Why would you have the programs if you didn't want to have the weapons?"

Thanks, Joel, because you just saved us $87 billion!!

I get it now. We don't need to actually rebuild Iraq, we just need to have the programs to do so on the drawing board because they're "one in the same" with actually carrying out the programs. No schools, water, sewage etc need be built. It's great!

Hey, while we're at it, we can save even MORE money on the backs of the military stationed in Iraq. They don't really need those kevlar flak vests - just send 'em a $1.69 Butterick pattern to wear instead because having the program (pattern) is the same as actually having the vest! And who needs rifles when we can send a pretty darn good artist's rendition of a rifle (complete with firing mechanisim schematic) over for our troops to use instead. We can give them paper wads shaped like bullets for ammo! Remember, having the program is "one in the same" with actually having the weapon. Hell, we can even send an instructional video along.

Speaking of videos, my son has the whole Star Wars series on video. I guess that means that I own a light sabre and have a Wookie as a best friend.

Hey, why not just airdrop a copy of the PNAC's Middle East plan into downtown Baghdad? We can all watch in amazement as peace miraculously spreads throughout the region because having a "peace" program and having actual peace are one in the same!!

Oh, look. I just found a travel brochure for Portofino, Italy in my kitchen drawer. I guess that means I either went there already or fully intend to do so some time in the imminent future.

Fuckin' idiot repigs...

2. I sent 'em an email about that.
I sent it to Wolf and Crossfire (I changed it a bit for Crossfire):

Your guest just said that WMD and WMD programs are "one in the same." I have a cookbook. I have flour and butter and chocolate chips. Is he going to tell me that that's the same as having chocolate chip cookies?

4. I hate to be the one to break this to you, but...
Butterick patterns are now over $4.95 apiece. Same with Simplicity patterns. All is not lost however - the DOD could employ some of their engineers to construct generic patterns from old copies of the WSJ and Army Times and save a pile of moolah while at it! ;)

6. Thanks for the price correction, Melinda
but I was remembering what they were WAY back when my mom & sisters bought them (we're talking mid-1970s here). Another thing I forget - that $4.95 pattern costs $495.00 in military procurement dollars!!

Do I get any credit for at least knowing what a Butterick pattern is, considering I'm a 49-year-old married guy and all?

5. IF you had Al Qaeda ties/support and IF you had a maniac sworn to revenge
and IF you had programs or easily dual use programs and IF you had materials to feed those programs and IF the UN sanctions were removed and IF everyone stopped looking... then I might be scared of PROGRAMS rather than actual stashes. Too many ifs there to be true.
