EMERG. SESSION OF CONGRESS MAY CONVENE AS EARLY AS TONIGHT
I just got off the phone with Sen. Mikulski's office -- I was told that Congress may convene an emergency session as early as tonight.

I also suggested that after things have "settled down" (bad choice of words, I know, I don't think any of us will ever recover emotionally from this horrific event), that hearings be held to find out what the hell went wrong to create this disaster.

4. that's a simple answer
Bush cut the funding in 2001 to shore up and strengthen the levees.

5. That would be wise.
Because I want all their levee repair-cutting heads on individual silver platters.

12. Really??!!
I think I was just lied to. My Rep's office just said that Congress will be back in session tomorrow. When I said that more people in NO will die between now and then there was just silence on the other end of the line.
