Why in the hell are Bush supporters so scared to criticize him?
Are they not able to see how incompetent he really is? How very little he gives a flying rats ass about Americans?

What is wrong with these people?

2. Because they'd have to admit they vehemently supported a criminal.
Not an easy thing to do, I'd say.

3. It's a cult
The more I see of hardcore Bush supporters, the more they remind me of the Moonies.

If you're in a cult, then even if your Fearless Leader does something obviously wrong, you have to come up with some reason why it's actually fine.

Actually, given the close ties between the Moonies and various far-right political figures, the comparison may be more apt than we know.

6. People have a hard time believing that they were misled by their own.
It is easier to believe the kool-aid talk than to face reality.

It is quite a different phenomena than putting party before principle.

8. Remember in Crawford, Texas?
They simply misunderstood a supporters sign and gang banged him.

If your not in lock step with the party line better keep it to your, and even then, you better be in the next county.

10. To admit what a bad job he's done on any of these things, NO, Iraq,
would start to open Pandora's box to recognizing the incompetent malfeasance of the whole presidency, that THEY VOTED FOR.

It's like the wife of the rich guy, who has a comfortable life, who finds the mysterious phone numbers inside the husband's coat, or the matchbook from the unknown restaurant or hotel. Some would rather not know where these things came from, even though they KNOW inside what it means.

12. Because they would be criticizing themselves
and admitting they are less than perfect.

In their black and white world, everything is perfect or awful. If they and everything they support isn't perfect it is awful and they can't cope with that.

The only thing keeping Murka together and safe from Al-Ka-Seltzah, in these people's eyes, are the Iron Balls and Brilliant Mind of Gawd's Own Servant, Chimpy McCokespoon.
