Repuke Gov gives aid to displaced citizens arriving in TX? |
|
My mother works for the Department of Human Resources in Texas. Just got off the phone with her and she told me that Gov. Rick "Goodhair" Perry has given the green light for Expedited Foodstamps (same day delivery, in other words) to ALL Gulf Coast residents being transported to Texas.
LA Welfare computer system is completely shot to hell and the overflow data(?) is going into and through the TX system resulting in an eight hour data back-log in TX.
This is the same Gov. who has ruthlessly slashed the food stamp and all other benefits in the state to the point of being a third world joke, yet the Gov. e-mail was cc'ed to all pertinent state workers and it's legitimate.
It takes *this* for a Texas Republican to open his heart?

that next time it could be us that gets hit. He's doing what we would want someone to do if something like Katrina ever happens to Texas.
But good on him anyway.

2. I suspect he was shamed into it, LA gov called & asked him for help. |
|
But hey, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Whatever it takes to get help.

doesn't mean he's a heartless one. I like to think that is the Texan way & he would be skinned i9f did anything but.
There also comes a time when it is wise to calm the refugees. Historically, hungry people with nothing to lose are dangerous.

for refugees. They are working out the details now. I've seen alot of people ask why they weren't opening the bases--they are starting. From what I understand they are going to put some of the sick ones there because a dialysis center is nearby. It will hold 400. Locally--the schools are told to forget about immunizations, etc. Just let the kids go to school. I hate to say it...but local government is working in this state. Maybe the federal government should take notes.
