Are the news stations mentioning Rush's drug problems?
Edited on Thu Oct-02-03 01:48 PM by anti_shrub
I'm doing a scan of their websites, and I only see them mentioning him quitting ESPN.

on edit: Wow, guess which news site was the first to mention drugs in the headline? Foxnews.com

3. Howard Stern played part of the NAB speech Rush gave today...
It seems that not even Rush realizes that this exists.

I would so love to see Rush go to jail. I'm just giddy every time I think about it. That lying, manipulative, drug addled sack of crap deserves to be the girlfriend of the very people he has no mercy for.

6. CNN has menitoned Rush in connection with the drug investigation
They say that the housekeeper claims she bought drugs for Rush. She says she has tapes of Rush talking about it and has given the tapes to investigators. Investigators say the voice on the tape is Rush Limbaugh's. Investigators say Rush is not the target of the two year investigation into the drug ring.

That's all I remember, but CNN has said this several times today.

You know, I hate to say it, but if Rush is addicted to this stuff, I feel sorry for him. He's a despicable creep, but no one deserves that. My brother-in-law just died recently at a very young age due to addiction. His death was long and painful, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. If Limbaugh is really addicted, and using in the amounts claimed, he doesn't have long to live, and I do feel sorry for him.

8. It's called karma
Limbaugh is a big fat mountain of bad karma. If he ends up being discredited and forced off the air then it can be said that his karma actually did run over his dogma.

9. what goes around comes around

Limbaugh is the point man for the right wing, who have been destroying our country. he does deserve to experience a double portion of the misery he's inflicted on others. more to the point, he needs to be TAKEN OFF THE AIR so he can't continue to spew lies and hatred. he needs to be EXPOSED AND THOROUGHLY HUMILIATED until he has completely lost credibility even among the dittoheads.

how much mercy did Limbaugh show to any famous "liberal" who might have gone astray? that's the amount of mercy Limbaugh deserves.

7. Slightly off topic, but
On our 770 station, just prior to the (soon to be replace) O'reilly Show starting, they run the "coming to 770" Limbaugh commercial. Funny.

I wonder if some wise Attorney put in an "out" clause for this contract for moral turpitude.

12. all day long
Fox News is now reporting that Rush didn't just get the stuff from his housekeeper, he had other dealers.

Maid says this has been going on for years.

Rush will be holding a two-hour talk show tonight to address this situation, per Fox. I didn't catch the time.

15. So can we please put to rest the theory that all media is...
dominated by the vast right-wing conspiracy. I love DU, but sometimes the rhetoric about the media turning a blind eye really gets to me. Honestly people, they report on things that will get RATINGS. If Clear Channel is in control of everything, wouldn't they do their best to keep this hush-hush? Of course, but the story has blown up. Please don't overlook this fact the next time you're trying to convince me that Karl Rove personally hand-selected all the news stories on my evening newscast.

16. Perhaps it was planned...ESPN was getting shitloads of mail...
Edited on Thu Oct-02-03 02:47 PM by Oracle
against Limbaugh being on, ratings were down, pigboy Limbaugh knew this drug scandal was coming out....he makes a rascist remark, he know his listeners will forgive him for it (because all he was doing was stating a fact. And the liberal press jumped all over him.)

So he quits, (before ESPN fired him) and the headlines are all about the remark and pigboy's quiting...not about drugs, low ratings, the backlash ESPN was receiving, etc.
