Hurricane Katrina's Aftermath: I'd Bet That The Repugs Wish Kerry Had Won
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 06:19 PM by VogonGlory
I'm cynical enough to believe that there are a lot of highly-placed members of the Republican Party who now wish that John F. Kerry had won the Presidential election in 2004 and had been inaugurated in January--now Republican incompetence stands out for all to see and smoke and mirrors diversion isn't going to work nearly as well as it did in the first four year's of George the Lesser's Imperium.

Nothing like having a government stocked with your own people to show just how your bungling stands out with no cover whatsoever.

1. It'll still be the Dems fault somehow
Even now there are calls here for the Dems to tell the president to do his job.

I can see it now. "Why didn't the Dems tell the President to do his job? It's their fault I tell you!!"

3. Your too myopic
I'm cynical enough to believe that there are a lot of highly-placed members of the Republican Party who now wish that John F. Kerry had won the Presidential election in 2004

I'm even more cynical enough to believe highly-placed members of the Republican Party think Kerry would have screwed up even more Bush

BTW, what makes you think highly-placed members of Republican Party even think Bush screwed up???

4. I've Met A Few Republicans
I've met a few Republicans that know other Republicans with ties to the levers of power. I think that at least a few have vestiges of decency--or at least think they do.

On the other hand I think that a few Repugs are smart enough to realize that Bush's excursions around Crawford pastures while the Gulf Coast washes away aren't going to reflect well on those GOPster politicos who'd made such efforts to tie themselves to Gee Dubya when the voters hold them to account as they come up for re-election. If the latter sort of Republican doesn't have ethics, they're at least interested in winning elections.
