On September 11, 2001, NYC had a Republican mayor and ...
New York state had a Republican governor. Much-needed aid began to pour into lower Manhattan within 24 hours. New Orleans has a Democratic mayor, and Louisiana has a Democratic governor. 4 days after Katrina, American citizens are dropping in droves, victims of dehydration and starvation, but Bush learned a new guitar chord. I'm starting to feel pretty fucking "extreme".

How is it that 2 buildings got so much assistance so quickly and totally unexpectedly, and a WHOLE FUCKING COAST LINE is in chaos with people losing civility and dying for 4 days when we knew it was going to happen and be bad days before?!?!?!?!

2. You are suggesting that because both mayor and governor....
...are democrats federal assistance has been withheld by the Bush administration to gain political leverage and capital over the suffering of the millions of people in the region affected by Katrina? I am thinking that perhaps the this is only transparent to BushCo. Much of the rest of the country is seeing what's happening.

5. Actually, what you're seeing is a state stripped of its National Guard,
a city stripped of 44% of its disaster relief funds (gotta pay for those tax cuts), and a group of people who are slowly dying of starvation and dehydration. But thanks for dropping by.

10. No. What the country is seeing is a federal government which,
for all its talk of homeland security and preparedness for a terror attack, was caught with its pants down when it came to a natural disaster that was forecast well in advance and which devastated a major US city.

Who in this country now feels safe?

4. lots of big money companies and empoyers/employees in WTC...BUT
remember how bushco didn't pay out all the $$ fed govt pledged(Nikkels, R from OK, complained that OKC didn't get NYC amount of money?????)

and that bushco cut funding for first responders and had EPA say NYC air was OK....

IOW, bushco hit the lower income (middle and lower classes) in NYC disaster as well
