I just saw Cindy's people on their way to D.C. at the gas station!!

There was a rally when they stopped here today but it wasn't well publicized so I didn't go. Then this evening, I went to get gas and looked over and saw this RV at the next pump over. It had a sign on the back window that said "D.C. or Bust" and on the side of the RV was another sign "What Noble Cause?" Then I noticed a guy in a combat shirt pumping the gas and a girl standing by him wearing an anti-war t-shirt. Both of them looked very familiar. So I walked over and asked them if they were from Camp Casey. They remembered me!

Then a lady and a man came over and asked me if I had been in Crawford with Cindy. I told them I came home two weeks ago today. They were from a local radio station and asked me if I wanted to be on their show. I told them I wanted my friend Muse Rider to be on the show with me. This lady was stunned that two middle aged women from Kansas had driven down to Crawford to stand with Cindy. She was very complimentary, she kept saying 'Good for you!' The man with her asked me if it was as wonderful as it seemed from TV reports. I told him of course it was. We talked about the hurricane for awhile and the colossal failure of the bu$h administration to help the victims.

Then I called Muse Rider. She has a diesel truck and drives out to her farm every day to feed her horses. She said it cost her $167 to fill her truck so she is staying out at her farm and sleeping in the barn for the time being. And she was excited about my meeting the folks from Crawford.

6. I am organizing an IL Camp Casey Tour peace vigil

They are going to be at Denny Hastert's office on September 7th. I am hosting a peace potluck and candlelight vigil in Wheaton that night, The three bike4peace guys going cross country to raise awareness for the peace movement will also be there. I can't wait to meet them!
