I just got this tonight -- frustration in New Orleans

This is authentic, it is not a chain mail or fake -- I know the source. It is dated today (September 1 -- just came out).

I have changed the names here for anonymity to "Susan and Fred." Fred is someone high up in charge of key emergency services in New Orleans. Susan is his daughter.

Hi, just got a call from Susan, who is pretty frustrated with the
way the support is NOT forthcoming from the Feds. Fred has been back and forth between the Convention Center and Superdome, and both have been without food or water for three days. He has been quoted on some news sources as saying, "I'm wondering and wondering where FEMA is." No one has shown up to date for support. Out of 70 promised buses, 12 showed up, and the Convention Center is
besieged by gangs and other bad folk who have looted weapons and are
around the area where the buses are to load. Three helicopters apparently dropped some supplies, but the stuff was mobbed by bad guys. It is totally out of control, and Fred's frustration at the lack of federal support is huge.

Susan wonders if any of us have any contacts at the media or govt. to get the truth out. The talking heads on TV are not doing what they hope to make us believe. New Orleans has literally been abandoned.

is talking about buying a place in Baton Rouge to stay close.

Susan will keep us posted, but would really appreciate anything we could think of to do to help her dad out.
