93 million dollars...
That's how much money they said had been donated to hurricane relief in the last three days on ABC a few minutes ago.

93 millions dollars.

I hope the message in that isn't lost on the idjits running our government. It's pretty fucking obvious the people in this country don't care that many of the victims are African-American. We're digging deep to help. The Feds need to get their acts together PRONTO because it looks like the people aren't going to tolerate them letting these people die just because they aren't well-to-do and white.

5. Thank you for that little ray of sunshine...
The point is that people have given a considerable sum in just 3 days. People care. Even if the government doesn't.

6. I'm sorry....
I really didn't mean to hijack your thread. I'm not feeling very optimistic. And I'm in a major depression. WalMart giving a lousy $1million pissed me off.

7. I'm with you VelmaD
people, corporations are kicking in.

93 mill is a good start. I just heard where the CEO of WalMart upped their portion to 17 mill.

People care, despite the lack of sunshine around here and the DC idjits

9. Realizing that people want to give, but it's in $5 $10 $40 increments
makes 93 million incredibly impressive. Bush, didn't your buddies get some great tax breaks they'd like to invest in the rebuilding of the lower half of our frakking country?

Call timeout in Iraq. They hate us, but they'll understand...they need more time to work out their government. Bring the troops back...New Orleans will be hard work but surely our battle-hardened Reservists would much prefer defending honor and humanity and democracy at home.

Goodwill Ambassador, damnit. Chavez deserves to help after the major faux-pas by the 700 Club recently. I think he offered. North is not the only America in the hemisphere. Other countries have much better disaster preparedness than us.

10. Good post and thanks for reminding us all that there are many good
and decent people in the US. We just see and hear from too many of the others.
