I wonder how RW pundits will try to spin this.
I'm sure that they will resort to the usual dodge of "Just imagine how much worse it would be if the liberals were in charge." although it probably would be a terrible blunder to bring up the memory of what democratic rule used to be like. As if things weren't bad enough with 911 and the Iraq War, the republicans will now have to contend with yet another hallmark (for lack of a better word) of their leadership-especially when conditions in New Orleans have become as deplorable as they have in Baghdad.

The old rhetorical standby of proselytizing has been worn out long ago and those who claim righteous indignation in the face of such a calamity will-justifiably-be cast in the same light as those who condemned the long suffering as being punished solely because of the rise of homosexuality in america.

Pointed fingers will come from the right in all directions in order to point the blame at anyone in a wild and desparate attempt to deflect repsonsibility onto someone-anyone-who will take the blame.

Sadly it is inevitable-the rhetorical blame-democrats-and-liberals-for-this-mess-again sort of excuse. After all, such rhetoric has been carelessly thrown around despite the damage it has done to the conservative movement. George W. Bush has done all he possibly could do help destroy it before this happened and it seemed that the conservative movement would be set back for a hundred. I find that I'm wrong. After this, it will have been completely buried.

1. Joe Scarborough
is saying that "politicians on both sides of the aisle" are to blame for this. Of course, that's a joke, seeing as how the Dems control nothing in Washington these days.

But, hey, at least Joe's showing some form of outrage in the general direction of Bush.

3. I'm already seeing it
Talking to someone who works in Lousiana, he said it's all the fault of local Democrats chasing off talented people and put cronies in important positions.

My Irony-meter pegged off the fucking chart, but dammit, those lousy Dems ruined America again....

4. Hundreds of thousands in NO will know the truth.
Factor in their family and friends too, and that's a LOT of people.

They cannot spin this.
