People at the NO Hilton were snuck out of town in the dark of night.
Dr. Judy Embry on Tucker Carlson right now said they were stuck in Hilton. As looting got worse hotel managers called for help and they were evacuated under the dark of night. Lights off on their cars. Taken through back streets. This as people lay DYING in the street!

1. They were more affluent..
then the ones staying at the motel 6... evidently that is what matters.

Did you hear the woman calling in from the Ritz all freaking out cause all she had had was a biscuit and a cup of water.. and that they were rationing...

2. Those must be the ones...
A woman in NO said she saw tourists leaving with their luggage piled up in their cars and never stopped to give anyone a ride out.

3. The lady Tucker Carlson interviewed said she couldn't believe
nothing was being done to help the people and that she had a lot of "real life stories" to tell her students now.

11. No, it was a woman they interviewed on the street
It was the same piece, though, I think. It's becoming a blur.

4. A woman called into CNN today said they were still stuck there and

they needed help. Some people were removed, but she said like 300 were still there. They thought no one knew they were there, and running out of water and food. Said there had been a convention of Infectious Disease Control MD's, and they were providing medical care. She was there with her husband for anniversary, and didn't have a way out. Sounded real. I dunno. Was disgusted because no help was even seen.

8. Good for them
FEMA's response for the vast majority of people is an utter clusterfuck. But if people CAN escape they should. I'm glad they got to escape, I only wish that authorities would be doing more to help other people escape as well.

9. If it's the people spoken about on MSNBC
then I'm kind of pi$$ed (very pi$$ed, actually), because a small group of residents who live next door to the hotel asked them for rides out of town -- but were refused. Now the residents who were left behind are fearing for their lives from the maurauders patrolling the streets.

12. Yes that was horrible
Those poor people - including foreign tourists - are stranded in the towers and are afraid of marauders and running low on supplies. They recalled that hotel guests with multiple cars packed all their luggage and drove out of town, refusing help.

13. I know someone who works there, I hope she got out okay
I honestly can't begrudge anyone for leaving when they could.
