Poll: WHICH ENCOURAGES OUR ENEMIES MORE?
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 12:24 AM by chookie
1) A grieving mother demanding an audience with the President because she is skeptical about the war she lost her son to

OR
2) Seeing the infrastructure of the US disintegrate before your eyes on CNN, and seeing how badly the most powerful nation on earth responds to a disaster?

The Poll functioning is not working at the moment here, but put me down for Number 2.

Wanna make a bet the jaws of our enemies are dropping? I've been saying for years -- Bin Laden can just put his feet up and have a beer, because George W will destroy America more efficiently that any of our enemies ever could.

I echo another post in this: perhaps George W did not gas his people, or starve them, but letting thousands -- and it will be thousands -- perish from neglect and incompetence is pretty durned close.

1. Poll: WHICH ENCOURAGES TERRORISTS MORE?
I gotta go with number 2, as well. We look like a third-world nation, ripe for the picking.

4. Welcome to DU, friend
We not only look like the Third World -- this debacle proves that pockets of the Third World exist in the richest country on earth -- and the people currently in power hate the poor and minorities the most.

Welcome to DU. I hope we have something nice to post about some day. :hi:

2. #2, am worried about it actually.
If someone wanted to do something bad, now would be the time, or they are at least watching and learning.

3. Give It A Few Days
It'll look like Bagdad with 10,000 troops wondering around with assault weapons.

5. We'll see how smart the terror cells are
Are they cruel enough to strike now, when we are so vulnerable? I think so.

FEMA can't even manage one disaster, let alone too.

I am not trying to be an alarmist or sensationalist here -- I just think that if we are truly at war, our enemies will take advantage of this opportunity. I'd be more surprised if they did not. We're talking a 6 month -- easily -- window of opportunity to deal America another blow. (Although Bin Laden may think George is destroying America at a fine pace without operations from Al Qaeda.)

6. Definitely #2.
If Usama wanted to maximize the hurt to the USA he'd pull some attack in the next couple of weeks. The inability of the US to respond to Katrina maybe the precise conditions for which he may be waiting.

I don't think that's what will happen. But if it does, we'd have our hands full for some time. But bushco would be gone. But at what cost. The cost in human life is so, so high already.
