You ask why all the people who were so anxious to save Terri Shiavo aren't anxious to save the people in NOLA. Terri was white.

This is plain old Rascisim folks. If it were a bunch of white kids and white people you saw dying on the streets the US would be up in arms about the lack of help and care.

I think this Freeper post summs it up just nice.

Don't help the people who are struggling to survive the most horrific event any of us could imagine living through.. No.. Shoot them.. cause they're black and "uncivilized".

You can quit asking the questions of why FEMA isn't dropping food/water. You can quit asking why the national guard are showing up with guns rather than life saving equipment. It's because they are black.

We are such a racist country it truly sickens me.

1. I concur. It's a shame that too many (although one is too many for me)
of my fellow Dems want to whitewash this parade of horribles and pretend incompetence is the only factor.

3. I too have noticed that
many are more horrified by the "looting" than the death toll and the suffering. This event is causing the meanest and most loathsome among us to show their ugly true colors, and I am horrified by the ignorance and bigotry I am seeing from some of my own family, coworkers and friends. I feel like I can't talk to anyone - they all have it all wrong. They are all so elitist and clueless. And I'm not sure they even realize how hateful they are being.

But I do.

4. Very well said.
I agree.. I'm a white male who grew up in a fairly liberal family and in a fairly diverse neighborhood and even some of my own family have made remarks that totaly took me off guard.

All I could say is.. They're human beings. They love their kids and wife as much as the white guy down the street does.

5. There were all colors of people down there.
They were simply and utterly unprepared to do anything for anybody. They may as well just fire the whole god damned fema.
