I'd like to respond to a few comments on Freak Republicans.com re Katrina
I understand that many of you don't like to expose yourselves to the vile hateful Republicans, and their umbilical cord, FreakRepublicans.com. For those of you that feel this way, then please discontinue reading this thread. For the rest of you, then please hold your noses and click on the following link.

"It wasn't Bush's job to evacuate NO. He informed the people who were responsible... what did they do?" -- This problem was too big for New Orleans, or Lousiana. It was a federal government problem. Nobody knew for sure if the hurricane was going to his LA, MS, AL, TX, or FL. That's why the federal government should have had a plan to respond to the diaster, regardless of where it occurred.

"I was wondering, didn't the CITY tell those people to go to the convention center? Ah why did THEY do that?" -- Because the disaster struck, and then the state of Lousiana discovered that the US government didn't have any plan to deal with disaster. Likely, they spent all the money for disaster planning, on tax cuts for Bush's rich friends.

"Oh good grief! What's next? Why didn't FEMA hand out Louis Vuitton luggage for everyone to carry their clothes out in?" -- No. We would settle for food, water, toilets, showers, clean clothes. You Republicans can keep the Louis Vuitton luggage for yourselves. We're talking about human survival. Fuck all you Republicans who don't understand.

"I would not hope that somebody would chop Ted Koppell's head off with a rusty shovel. That would be resorting to violence. And I am against that." -- I would say that this psychopath detracts from the intellectual level of the Republican Party, but he probably actually adds to it.

"Nobody is responsible for themselves, it is the job of the federal government to do everything, immediately.
It was not the looter's fault for looting, it was the cops fault for not stopping them.
It was not the city's fault for allowing building in a flood zone, its the federal governments.
Remember, it is always somebody else's fault...
Ooops. Sorry, I forgot.. Remember, it is always BUSH's fault!!!" -- Oh Lord, where do I begin? It IS the federal government's responsibility to have plans to deal with disasters. Yeah, let's blame the poor people who were born and raised in Louisana for building New Orleans in a flood plain. Good response.

"There's lots of "blame Bush" going on tonight on the news.
Not that's it's suprizing. It sure is disgusting though.
Everyone should punch a reporter. In fact, we should have punch a reporter month. They aren't showing so many looters tonight, but they sure have alot of fat welfare people with poor grammar blaming Bush interviews." -- Yup, the victims are all on welfare. They're all Black too.

""I wanted to jump through the television screen and choke that weasel."
Agreed. And we can't expect anything else from TK and ALL of his ilk. Such an enormously inappropriate, provocative and loaded utterance is absolutely Nazi for its proportion of deceit and distortion. The so called MSM is a scurrilous propaganda machine." -- Er, uh, yeah fuck head. Whatever. Just keep your ass at least one mile away from me.

"Oh, brother. Right...Bush should know exactly which cities will have the commonsense to respond to which emergencies and with 24 hours notice have buses down there. Get a grip!" -- Well, dipshit, federal issues are in fact the jurisdiction of the federal emergency management agency. They are supposed to be prepared to face emergencies, regardless of which state or city they occur in. That's the essence of FEDERAL agencies, by the way.

"It is the responsibility of the States and local governments to plan for disasters. FEMA is invited in and is really only suppose to serve as a back up not first source of aid. Poor evacuation planning is not the fault of the Federal Gov't. How are they suppose to know the needs of every community?" -- Well, the actual reason we have a Federal Emergency Management Agency is in fact to prepare for the emergency management that you are trying to claim is the responsibility of the state and local governments. Otherwise, why do we have FEMA?

3. Percisely why this country is divided right now.
Half are too busy faluting poor people for improper grammar, the other half working together to get help and aid to the people who are suffering.

Glad I am on the side of the angels.

4. So----not Bush's job to send in the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?
These people have no hearts, no souls. Dying babies, dying old people, why don't the mobilize those Terry Schiavo protesters to do something productive with their lives, like save people from dying?

6. Excellent and congrats for
having the stomach to go to that place.

Just one thing on the why N.O. was a Federal and not just a state issue.

25% of this country's oil comes through the Gulf. Anything that disrupts that affects every state in the nation. That makes it a Federal Government concern!!

What morons they are ~ but in a week or two when they can only go to the end of their driveways on a full tank of gas in their tax-exempt SUVs, maybe if someone explains it very slowly to them, they might get why Bush completely failed to handle a national security crisis of mammoth proportions, for the SECOND time.

Those long vacations he takes are beginning to have a very spooky aspect to them. He should not be allowed to go to Texas again. Bad things happen to this country when he does.

So, we've now had the equivalent of the 'terror' attack Bush and Cheney said would be sure to happen if Kerry were elected and that was why we should vote for Bush, because he was the one who could be trusted to protect us all!!

All those color coded terror alerts, it was all BS after all. This is how Bush protects this country. Four days after a major disaster and the NG, food, water, etc. are still not available to the victims.

On 9/11, we had first responders, NG, funds to deal with a disaster. But not any more so F$%k his color codes and his terror alerts and his Homeland Security, and we need to get rid of that Nazi language 'homeland', I always hated that word.
