9/11 vs. Katrina....why George is fucked this time.
This time, he has no one to demonize. No "dead or alive", no "war on terra", no meaningless colour-coded "terra alerts", no bullying of the UN, no sexed up intelligence, no fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here. Nothing. Nowhere to hide this time.
Can't wrap all of his misguided, misbegotten policies with the American flag and claim all dissenters are unpatriotic. Nope. This time, George, it is all on you. You, and you alone. You sir, are a trapped animal. Don't try to wiggle free, you'll only tighten the grip.

Say g'night Pickles.

14. Also, they knew a Cat. 3 would cause flooding.
Not a breach, but flooding.

This was known for days to be a Cat. 5 yet the Coward did nothing.

They certainly should have anticipated a breach.

8. Sort of like...
"nobody ever imagined they'd fly planes into buildings." The problem is, both statements are untrue.

7. Yep....
there is no "smokin em out" or "got em on the run".

Who would have thought it? 9-11, got away with it. War on an innocent nation, got away with it. Tax cuts for the rich, got away with it. Prescription drug benefit, got away with it. Patriot Act, got away with it. Cafta, got away with it. Bankruptcy bill, got away with it. I could go on. Who would have ever imagined it would be an act of God that would take him down.

As despicable as it is, it's working with some people.

Maybe a few others. If that happens, it means they they are at the edge of the cliff.

20. This is worse than 9/11...I believe that when its all said and done, there
will be as many as 2-5 times as many people dead than 9/11. PREVENTABLE DEATHS too! In the next 24-48 hours, atleast 50% or more of the deaths will happen due to the lack of response from this administration in providing people with water, food, medicine, shelter etc.

I lost 5 friends on 9/11...I miss them...it was an awful tragedy that I hope is never repeated. But this....this was a preventable event that they let happen....

And your absolutely right, spot-on in your assessment of why they are really, really fucked...no one to demonize, no one to fight - except for themselves.

The blood of the dead in New Orleans is on Bush's hands....

23. 2006
If that doesn't turn out to be the mother of all "throw the bums out" years, then you know there's no legitimate voting left. And if some Democratic collaborators go, too that's fine with me. I only want to see people who'll call this administration what it is left standing after the next election cycle.

24. We need to keep reminding people that whether it's a
natural disaster or a terrorist attack, the Republicans are not the ones to rely on to keep them safe or to help them. Imagine if this had been a massive terrorist attack.

25. That's why they are sure as hell trying to demonize the victims
The looters, the people who chose not to evacuate, the rapes, the violence, etc. They are trying to paint the picture that New Orleans is full of worthless black people who are not worth our trouble to worry about.

I heard some witch caller on talk radio say that she didn't feel sorry for any able bodied person who stayed. Her attitude "If I didn't have a car, I sure as hell would have started walking". Stupid witch (from Tacoma who has no effing clue about what a hurricane is like), where are you going to walk to from a city surrounded by swamps when you have a cat 5 hurricane bearing down on you, knowing that the final landfall estimates have a 150 mile margin of error? YOu could be caught in the eye of the storm walking to get out of NO. I would have taken my chances at home, too.
