Thank God the French are coming in to save Americans!
Because Bush sure doesn't seem to care much.

1. Ain't no solidarity there
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:25 AM by Horse with no Name
"A day earlier, French President Jacques Chirac sent a message of solidarity to U.S. President George W. Bush, saying France was standing by the victims of the hurricane."

Chirac was standing alone with the victims. Bush was eating cake.

10. StoP!@#$ you're killing me :)
He mosty likely is doing just that. Did you see the way he abruptly left his news session and left Bill and George Sr. standing there wondering what to do? It was fucking hilarious. He's doing a "little Hitler" thing now. I see a man who's got serious psychiatric problems. I wonder if his staff know when to stop pretending and lock him up.

I think they understood they were making a big mistake not to allow it

But Bush primary reaction was to refuse, I saw the tape on French TV.

11. I don't think so...not yet
The search and rescue team that just arrived in LA was asked for by the state of LA...from our province BC. It wasn't a federal request from the Bush admin. State level only.

End run I think.

I read somewhere on here tonight that Bush Sr and Clinton have been put in charge of accepting donations and 'help'....so maybe they'll have more sense than Jr.

B.C. rescue team describes chaos in Louisiana

CTV.ca News Staff

A Canadian search and rescue team in Louisiana says conditions on the ground are so dangerous, it has to wait for order to restore before they can get to work in the devastated hurricane region.

British Columbia's Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) left for Lafayette, La. Wednesday night after being asked by state officials for assistance.

On Thursday, the team was in Kenner, La. -- a small city of about 75,000 on the Mississippi River's East Bank -- where police described the violence and looting as "out of control."

USAR is working with Louisiana State Troopers, as well as the National Guard.

the Canadian federal government has offered help too, but they are on 'standby' and haven't been given the OK by someone in the US federal government to come in yet.

Aid Offers Will Be Accepted From Countries

By BARRY SCHWEID
The Associated Press
Thursday, September 1, 2005; 7:09 PM

WASHINGTON -- In a turnabout, the United States is now on the receiving end of help from around the world as some two dozen countries offer post-hurricane assistance.

Venezuela, a target of frequent criticism by the Bush administration, offered humanitarian aid and fuel. Venezuela's Citgo Petroleum Corp. pledged a $1 million donation for hurricane aid.

With offers from the four corners of the globe pouring in, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has decided "no offer that can help alleviate the suffering of the people in the afflicted area will be refused," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Thursday.

However, in Moscow, a Russian official said the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency had rejected a Russian offer to dispatch rescue teams and other aid.

and drag their feet in allowing all the other nations to help. This is a rescue mission, 12 hours will be too late for many.
