How did this guy get DIESEL? And how did he get an answer from FEMA???
QUOTE 9:36 am
Diesel Situation
We have permission from the City and from FEMA to truck in diesel. We have the ability to take on 1300-1500 more gallons of diesel fuel. If you or anyone you know is capable of bringing us fuel, we will pay for it. It would be best if the delivery truck could navigate a parking garage, otherwise the unloading will be hours -- no idea how long it could take.

From the Interdictor blog:

Aid volunteers are being turned back while people die of thirst and this guy asks FEMA if he can have some diesel delivered -- and they say yes? The mayor can't even get a good answer from FEMA - but this guy can just call them?

What in the hell is going on here?

1. I don't know
but I had read the same blog earlier, and wondered why this guy isn't put in charge of the NOLA effort. He apparently is actually capable of making things happen.

2. True. But to me this is stunning news. How is it that this man can
pick up the phone to order diesel as simply as he would have ordered a pizza a few days ago?

There have been many reports of authorities refusing entry to volunteers bringing life-saving water and supplies to refugees. BUT THIS GUY CAN CALL AND ORDER DIESEL? If I'm not mistaken, I read at least one instance where FEMA itself couldn't get diesel where it was needed.

Charges of racism are growing, and with items like this added to list, it's starting to smell as bad as the superdome.

4. My concern isn't with the fuel company -- it's with FEMA & other officials
People are dying from lack of water. Authorities are refusing permission to everyone who wants to deliver lifesaving supplies to those in need.

Yet this guy is allowed to be in the city (why isn't he being told to evacuate?), can just pick up the phone and get permission to bring in his OWN delivery person with a supply of fuel that some authorities themselves are having a hard time getting.

Just another painful reminder that money does talk.

What I find surprising is that no one else seems to find a thing wrong with it. :(

5. last night a truck of ammo was delivered as well...but
no water or food on board.

If you all can't see what's going on then I'm at a loss.

just rememeber what Janet Reno did in waco. keep that in mind. These people running the show are known to be evil and you can only imagine what they would like to see happen
