in NO. Police aren't sure what is happening. They are worried it is with train cars and there might be chemicals involved. HAZMAT has been called.

7. Please, no cable where I am being sheltered

after fleeing my lakefront New Orleans home. Anxiously following any news. Angry, frightened, shattered. Please give details ASAP. I am on dial up and sharing a trailer with 15 - glad to be safe but outraged at what is happening to my beloved city. Salvation Army is truly helping. Red Cross response was/is slow. We contacted them and were told we could drive over an hour and get a hot meal, but there were no boxes of food, clothing or toiletries available yet.

Fearing cholera outbreak will come to the city soon.

The feds have botched this by denial, neglect and irresponsible decisions. Glad Koppel got on FEMA's man in charge of "rescue???? operations." My hate for lying, spinning, unqualified republican appointees has elevated to the visceral level.

Sorry if this missive rambles and breaks. I think I am still in shock.

anyone is going down there with supplies they can get them directly to you? Yesterday several people said they were loading up their cars and going to NO/MS. Maybe you can exchange info via PMs and get some relief that way?
