I'm hereby thanking CNN
for playing that entire interview with the mayor uncut. It was long, and I know many stations tend to edit out 'goddamn' and such (I expected them to), but I feel his every sentiment was needed to convey the message. The man's a true leader - and that's something we can't say for just about every other official out there right now.

2. One of the most heartfelt things I've heard. Reminded me of the
commentator who witnessed the Hindenburg. Oh, the humanity.

4. I'm not much of a newsie....
On my cable I get CNN, MSNBC and Faux. Is any one of them any better than the others? Been tuned to CNN the last few days, and I'm really thinking they suck. Are the others better?
And as someone else said here a few days ago: "I miss Peter Jennings"!!

Dumpbush - the sooner the better!

6. Well, yesterday my impression changed
A few CNN anchors showed their humanity, a few called the government out on things that needed to be mentioned (like why they responded so quickly to terry schiavo but not this). Today they showed the whole NO mayor's interview uncut. They still have a few people sucking up and giving the usual news BS, but IMO they've got a big step on the rest.

MSNBC is decent every now and then, and FOX is only extremely rarely.

5. I got called on another thread
for slamming those cops who had turned in their badges ("They refused to shoot looters. Heroes."). My response was to cite the mayor's interview, which I had downloaded and saved. I also cited this Alternet article: http://www.alternet.org/story/24936/

It was, and remains, a tough call for me and perhaps many others here.
