Deforestation and politics

I was forced to see a film about politics and tropical forests. It's quite upsetting so I had to leave in the middle of the film. Unfortunately, we have to finish watching it next Thursday. I'm debating just to sign in then just leave. I don't want to see any more deforestation in the rain forests all over the world.

ELF continues to be justified in stopping the loggings. I mean, we have shitloads of empty buildings that are still viable. Why do corporate dickweeds want to tear down a perfectly good building and use fresh wood to build a new one?

Same applies for housing. At least use a method where there is less use of wood, and more materials that are recycled.

That's what I plan to do when I buy a house - remodel the whole thing without the use of wood or minimal use of wood (or at least recycled wood)

1. Upsetting? Leaving a film?

I presume you're a student. Do you really think you're doing yourself any good by skipping classes, and claiming to have been there? It's dishonest, and you're missing out on an education. What if you need to persuade someone to your point of view? Are you going to make up facts, because you couldn't bear to watch a film? How much do you think that will help your cause?

The problem isn't that you see the deforestation; it's that the deforestation is happening. Hiding in your shell won't stop it.
