Broadcast on WWLTV - An elected official somewhere in the middle of all this mess being interviewd by reporters ... she answered every question with "gas and buses." Basically said if you can't bring me gas or a bus, I don't want to hear it because people are dying. Imploring people, anybody, to begin driving buses to the Astrodome to begin shuttling people out of New Orleans.

I'm sick.

2. why can't we send buses?

I don't have the money or the infrastructure (no blog, don't know how to post on them, don't know the people at Air America or moveon) but surely people could band together to rent a bus or two to send to NO? Can't someone get a radio talkshow host on to this?

I'd be happy to contribute, I just can't afford a whole bus, and by the time I figure out how to raise money for one, the people will already be dead. Anyone here have contacts, blogs, experience...?
