evacuated to safer areas of the country. Big storms will tear up aircraft exposed to them on the ground. This is the routine practice BUT you are correct in general because ground transportation should have been able to roll quickly after the storm. Unless that equipment was deployed overseas I don't understand this at all. You would think that at least road clearing and telecommunications would have been rolling in 24 hours or less. Let's not forget that Ivan was 2 years ago - it was massive and devastated the Panhandle. Didn't Jeb and George compare notes after it?
