CBC Press Conference: "Where are the airlines, where are the hotels?"
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 10:08 AM by KeepItReal
Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. expressed his condolences, then went on:

We have witnessed something shockingly awful: And that is the lack of response - the quick response from our Govt. to those Americans that are suffering and are dying.

News media has shifted the emphasis...from devastation experienced to what people do in desperate circumstances...

Why is it we cannot airlift people out of affected areas and absorb them in other places?

He said Rev TD Jakes had a conf in ATL with more than 150K attendees.
To him, Superdome and Astrodrome environments are unsafe an unsanitiary.

Where are the hotels? The Hiltons, the Hyatts, the Holiday Inns?

Where are the airlines that we bailed out with Billions of dollars after 9/11?

Where are the 24 mass airlifts of people out of these areas into places where they can continue their lives?

The President's coming off a historic level of vacations and must now get to work.

1. Where are the airlines INDEED??
That really pisses me off. Bail-out after bail-out to pay for their mergers, greed and mismangement.

Paid for on the backs of workers and all taxpayers.

It's an outrage for sure. This all coming home to roost on our sell-out politicians.

6. The CEOs of the airlines wouldn't dream of donating this as a write off
only if the feds charter them out and give them more money.

The airlines are infested with worms at the top level.

4. Where is Big Pharma?
Surely they could donate medicine to restock the hospitals.

7. I did hear this AM
that the airlines were finally bringing in planes to bring people out.

Now for all those big corp chain hotels to step up to the plate. Everyone of them has to provide at least 2 -3 rooms at every one of their properties.
