So Who is the Rudy Guillani of Katrina?
Who is the NYFD?

If you ask me, this disaster looks like 1000 911s at once and NOTHING is being done...

1. Unfortunately the major of New Orleans
is in way over his head.

He has every right to be angry but he also needs to take control and bring aid and comfort to his people.

4. Control? He has no support, no help, no supplies, no water,
no medicine, nothing. What is he supposed to take control of? FEMA took control, Homeland Security took control. The Mayor is fighting, pleading, crying for his people, what more do you think he should do?

FEMA assured him that they had the assets in place to help him IMMEDIATELY after the hurricane passed, we can see what the truth really was.

5. Nagin has a hell of a lot more to do than Guiliani
New York was still a very functional city after 9-11. They had power, water, news media, food, toilets, police. They had roads within a couple of days.

And when the second tower collapsed, it was over. Clean-up could begin.

Nagin has none of those advantages, and he still has to fix the problem. His situation is a thousand times worse than Guiliani's was.

8. Apparently he left and went to Baton Rouge right away
and that is making some people mad, that he left the city

Harry Connick Jr. was making that point on NBC this morning.

13. There are NO communications in NO! Was he supposed to stay
there and not be able to actually help his people? FEMA took charge, took control from him and look how successful they have been! He is begging, pleading, fighting to try and get help for his people, he is doing more than any of the high-paid bushbot in CHARGE of this catastrophe.

3. Nagin... No question...
And to compare his to 'Rudy' is minimizing what Nagin has done. Nagin was driving around on Sunday night picking up people in buses, trying to get people out of their homes...

9. Bullshit!
Is that the meme from the right-wing spewing talking heads? If so, it is laughable in it's pathetic attempt to divert blame from their 'hangin loose' guy.

12. The MSNBC cameraman said Harry Connick Jr. was the only person
"in authority" who went to the Convention Center yestersday and told those poor people he would try to get them some help.

And he's helping put together the telethon.

So, for lack of ANY leadership in this situation, I nominate Harry Connick Jr. for the Rudy Guiliani award.

15. WWL
They are the ones who kept the people informed, and who broadcast what was happening, so that the authorities finally got their act together--as much as it is together. Anderson Cooper, that Shepard guy, even Nancy Grace, all refused to listen to the federal lies this time, and that's the only thing that finally got Bush off his butt.
