7. Yeah, we talked about that here on Sunday...
We were really worried the levee system would collapse entirely with a Cat 5 hurricane...

Yeah, 'no one could have guessed they'd break'... gimme a f'ing break!!

This administration cut funding to fix those levees and now they're guilty at least of criminal neglegence in getting water and food to these people...

11. Yes. That documentary has been around for some time
I've seen it or at least some version of the same thing for a couple of years now.

Everyone at FEMA knew it was one of the top three catastrophes waiting to strike the US.

This adminstration is so riddled with incompetence that it no longer functional

12. Their scenario was that 20,000-30,000 killed
OMG that is something, I cannot begin to understand how our government would let this happen....

13. In the mid 1980's I saw Cray computer simulation results.
That's when I became aquainted with the term "Project Storm" for the worst case scenario, a major hurricane with the eye just to the right of New Orleans. "Project Storm" was the name given because the results were so extreme.

So this possibility has been known for about 20 years. Lots of blame to go around for everyone.

There is simply NO EXCUSE for the lack of appropriate response.

15. THANK YOU ! NOVA... I was thinking Frontline. I saw it !
It said just what we are seeing! The predicted 40,000 to 60,000 dead from a Cat 5 direct hit.

They said the city could NOT be evacuated in time. Too many elderly, poor, car-less, and just too many to be evacuated. It warned of what we are seeing. The levy breaches.

Fantastic show! Anyone have a copy?
