1. Did you notice that they didn't even attempt to fill the hole

That picture was taken on 31st. In the same picture you see barges, trains, containers etc. And those objects which are close to the breach could be thrown in there to stop the flow, because it needs big objects and doesn't have to be a perfect fit. All it takes is a big strong helicopter and you can already start to fill the hole.

2. Thing is though, in the Surekote Road Levee break, it looks like...

...the water is draining OUT of the city. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing in the long run, but I think it might be helpful at this point.

that can lift a tank? The really weird looking ones. I'm sure they've got a couple sitting SOMEWHERE in the southeast...

7. I'm not sure if you're talking about the Chinook or the "Flying Crane"

The Sikorsky S-64 Flying Crane (CH-54) Helicopter, looks like it's missing it's lower back half. They use them in Logging, among other things.

But, they don't do much logging in Louisiana. :sarcasm:
