The people who stayed DIDN'T HAVE ANYWHERE TO FUCKING GO! Most of them probably didn't stay by choice, they just didn't have the means to get out.

Certainly there were those who stayed by choice, and there is no way to second-guess their reasoning for doing so. It's difficult to imagine what goes through a person's mind in the midst of a disaster like that. The urge to protect home and turf is strong, and Americans are a stubborn people.

To make statements about accepting personal responsibility in the aftermath of this is just disgusting. Point fingers and lay blame later. For now JUST HELP THESE PEOPLE! What an asshole!
