The next storm

Given the pattern of weather of our warming planet, it is only a matter of time, maybe as little as a week, before the next hurricane hits the United States. Has anyone who is (theoretically) in charge mentioned contingency plans, should another storm hit the gulf?

Out of curiosity, I went to the website of the Global Hydrology And Climate Center, a division of NASA, and checked the most recent sattelite photo of the central Atlantic. The one storm is already well-formed, and two others (one to the north, one to the south east) look like they are starting to spin up.

Is anyone in authority making plans?

1. I was watching the Weather Channel Yesterday....

And they were watching one storm that, should it develop into a Hurricane, could hit the gulf next week.

My guess is no... they aren't making plans - they're barely playing catch-up!!

God I feel sorry for those people if another one hits.

Bush can't keep up with this stuff between Iraq and 2 hits in the same spot.
