I have a question - who can help
Here is what I'm wondering as I finally see help arriving at the convention center in NOLA - how long do you think it took to mobilize and get these trucks in - I'm thinking maybe they started in ernest on Wednesday.

So my question is what if they had started getting ready on Saturday or even Sunday - how many lifes could have been saved? How many people could they have gotten out before the freaking levee even broke?

and the material, equipment and personnel should have been staged on on stand by to repair the levees at the first sign of failure. the whole fucking thing is a complete disaster.

the fact the the fucking president can say that no one anticipated a levee breach just goes to show that his little katrina prep photo-op in crawford was crap. he didn't do a goddamn thing to prepare.

if he had spoken to anyone who knew anything, even a goddamn shoeshine boy from NOLA who reads the newspaper regularly, he would have know how real that possibility was.

i am sure negligence will account for at least 2/3 of the deaths, if not more.

2. This is so sad
I haven't been watching TV only brief minutes until this morning and then haven't watched too much. I am a white woman with three bi-racial nephews - and in every little black face on TV this morning I saw my nephews and cried and felt like puking - I would die for those three kids - I can not even imagine the unbearable suffering these people are going through...just the thought of anything happening to my nephews brings me to tears - and the thought of anything happening to them because of the color of their skin is 100 times worse.....
